Sherlene Johnson has built a distinguished career in Finance and Economics, marked by academic excellence and professional leadership. She began her academic journey at the University of the West Indies – Barbados, where she graduated with Honors with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Accounting. Driven by her passion for finance and a commitment to continuous learning, she pursued and obtained a Masters Degree in Finance from the University of Leicester in England.

Sherlene’s strong educational background and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in her career success. She joined the National Caribbean Insurance (NCI) Company Ltd. in 1991 and has played a pivotal role in strengthening the Company’s financial operations. Her deep understanding of financial principles and economic strategies has allowed her to contribute significantly to NCI’s growth and stability.

Over the years, Sherlene has held several key positions, demonstrating her versatility and expertise. She has served as Secretary to the General Manager, Claims Clerk, Manager of the Credit Department, and Senior Manager of Credit and Investment. Additionally, she has been actively involved in financial oversight and served as Chairperson of the Investment Committee. Currently Sherlene is the Executive Manager of Corporate Services and holds the role of Recorder of the Finance and Investment Committee.

With extensive experience in finance, investment, and de-risking, Sherlene has successfully managed various investment portfolios and financial projects. She is known for her strategic vision, precision, and commitment to enhancing efficiency and effectiveness within NCI’s operational framework. Her leadership and expertise have significantly contributed to the company’s success, making her an invaluable asset in driving financial growth and innovation.
